UNDP Procurement Contract Type


Procurement covers the purchase of goods, works, and services. Goodsgenerally include equipment, supplies and materials etc. Works include the construction or renovation, buildings and infrastructure etc. Services include consulting work.

UNDP Procurement Principles:

1. Best Value for Money – it is aselection of the offer which presents an integrated assessment of technical, organizational and pricing factors. Parameters can also include social, environment and other strategic objectives of the procurement plan.

2. Fairness, Integrity and Transparency – protection of integrity of the procurement process and maintaining fairness in UNDP’s treatment of all Offerors.

3. Effective Competition - all eligible prospective Offerors are provided with timely and adequate notification of UNDP’s requirements and an equal opportunity to tender for the required goods, civil works and services.

4. Interest to UNDP - all interested and qualified Offerors worldwide are provided with access to procurement opportunities, i.e. the same information.

UNDP Procurement Process:
UNDP Mongolia Country Office publishes Bidding Notifications at least at two local newspapers and local website.
All competitive bidding process above USD 30,000 to USD100,000 are reviewed by local Contracts, Assets and Procurement Committee (CAP). Bidding above USD100,000 is reviewed by the Regional CAP.

UNDP Procurement Contract Type:

  1. Purchase Orders for goods above USD2,500
  2. Institutional Contracts for services and works below USD30,000
  3. Professional Service Contracts for services and works above USD30,000
  4. Special Service Agreements for consultancy services
  5. Long Term Agreement
